A client from Naples wanted to screen in their under truss lanai because of pesky bugs invading the outdoor area. The picture on the left shows their lanai without the screen. Without any mesh, it’s not a surprise that insects hang out in there as well.

To prevent bugs from entering, we screened it in. We used superscreen, a durable mesh that is three times stronger than a standard screen. For easy access, we also installed a 36″x80″ door, as seen in the photo.

Under-truss lanai screen applications usually last longer than pool cages because they are not exposed to direct sunlight and experience less wind. On the other hand, pool enclosures experience wind from all directions and are exposed to the sun the whole day. Since we also used a durable mesh, this client won’t be worrying about bugs for a long time.
