Another enclosure that we restored is for a client in Fort Myers. Mr. Edwards wanted to restore his pool cage because it had rusty fasteners and fading paint. He availed our Lifetime Restoration Package which includes rescreening, replacing the fasteners, and repainting the entire structure with better materials that come with a longer warranty.

Here is what his old pool cage looks like. Before we started our restoration process, we first had to cover the deck and pool with plastic to prevent getting paint and debris on it. Next, we removed the screens so we can easily replace the fasteners and paint the frames.

For the fasteners, we used the Nylotec model, which is a durable model with a 10-year warranty. Then we repainted the entire structure with Hi-solid Polyurethane that comes with an electrostatic charge. Lastly, we installed new screens all over the pool cage. We used Superscreen 14/16, a mesh that is 3x stronger than the standard screen. All screens are durable when newly installed, but this can withstand strong gusts of winds for years before it becomes easily tearable from a normal windy afternoon.

We also replaced the old eyelit style cables. The new ones are a triangle that distributes the tension over the corner while the old ones put all of the tension on one pressure point. This makes the cable more durable and prevents it from breaking quickly.

It took us two weeks to complete this project. Our client is happy that his pool cage looks great again and that he won’t need an upgrade for a long time.
