Converting to picture windows is always a great way to open up a wide viewpoint. Picture this: You can fully enjoy the view without interruptions while bringing in natural light and views of the outdoor. Sounds like a dream, right?

That said, these homeowners from Naples, Florida, wanted to convert the existing front wall of their screen enclosure to Clear View (along with installing new vertical posts).

Clear View Picture Window Installation Process

Installing a 38" size, bronze-colored picture windows required us to secure the proper engineering and permits for projects of this scale. We also updated the entire main load-bearing wall to meet the current building code. There was a 1" x 2" prefabricated design flaw on the header, which we also eliminated. And instead of stitched vertical posts, we used solid ones instead. Fewer aluminum members also decrease the chances of extensive damage in hurricane-prone regions like Florida.

Over the past years, we've discovered through countless projects how impactful a picture window can transform standard pool cages. This also impacts the day-to-day living experience of our clients for the better, as they can lounge, relax, and enjoy a more expansive view of the landscape outside the enclosure. If you're still uncertain what a picture window is– it refers to a wide screen wall with fewer (or not one) aluminum members installed. In most cases, our clients avail it during their restoration project if the existing layout allows. If not, you can have your whole enclosure re-engineered to allow the installation of a picture window.

This project also included a partial rescreening of some sections of the enclosure. This consists of the remainder of the enclosure located beside the picture window. We used Super Screen to achieve a premier pool enclosure. The material is known to be incredibly versatile and suitable for pool and patio enclosures.
